Halloween Fun!!

OK, so even though I have not one spare second because Brooke's BIG 1st Birthday Party is next weekend!!, I am taking some time today to upload some cute pics of my Trick-or-Treaters!! If I don't do it today, I won't do for 2 weeks!

Side note: A friend gave me a fireman costume for Brendan, so he agreed (about 2 months ago!) to be a fireman, so Brooke could be his little Dalmatian dog... well, of course as we went in and out of party stores getting things for Brooke's party next weekend, he oogled over all of the costumes and was REALLY upset that he couldn't be some kind of super hero... so, I ended up buying him a Spiderman costume and he wore that to 2 other Halloween parties, and then he was ready for a change by Halloween night, so it worked out PERFECTLY! We actually walked out of the costume store IN the Spiderman costume last week, which most strangers got a kick out of. And I talked him OUT of wearing it to the grocery store the day we got it because I knew it would get him attention he didn't want!! Boys and their superhero costumes! I have already gotten my money's worth out of it because he also played in it here at home ALL week :-)

At his little Halloween party at school singing some songs -- in the midst of singing he was also "web-shooting" at us :-)

And with all the playing in this costume during the week, we misplaced the mask!! Oh, well, it's not like he left it on anyway!

Had to get a pictures of Brooke's little Pumpkin clip -- I LOVE the clips at http://www.hairclippy.com/ -- the "No Slippy Hair Clippy" total cheesy name, but they make the best clips that don't fall out EVER... well, unless your kid rips them out, like mine!!

Dad and Brooke at my family's Halloween Party/Jeff's Birthday Dinner

Time for a costume change!! My Fireman and Dalmation -- Brooke is only sitting because she is "trapped" in the Bumbo chair!! LOVE IT!

In between pictures, she was reaching over and grabbing, then eating MULCH -- this baby eats EVERYTHING. She especially favors baby wipes, and paper. I'm not kidding. I confiscate paper and wipes from her mouth on a daily basis... it is digestible, in case you were wondering!! OH, and do you know what else is digestible?? FULL Bandaids... found one in her diaper a few months ago. The WHOLE THING. Obviously I was extremely upset at the time because I didn't understand how she ate it without me seeing it, the "what if's" if she choked on it, felt like a bad mom, etc. And it was a Transformers bandaid, which we don't have!! Still a mystery, but now I can laugh about it :-) I know, too much information, totally gross!

Posing with our scarecrow...

Family picture!! Check out our pumpkin carving masterpieces... Jeff took off Friday afternoon because it was the only time we were going to have to carve pumpkins. We actually have NEVER carved pumpkins before!! And Jeff found some stencils and a carving tool set and became OBSESSED! He did a really great job. Mine is the "S" since I LOVE LOVE LOVE anything monogrammed :-) Even pumpkins! I carved it halfway, and then Jeff had to finish it because I wasn't strong enough! Of course I chose to carve the pumpkin that was basically a ROCK. I also did a polka dot pumpkin with the drill, but you can't really see it. It looked good when it was dark. Jeff's intricate designs were a tazmanian devil, and a bat. They were awesome!

And if you also notice, our "Please Take 2 Pieces" sign with our candy we left on the doorstep... yea, we were out of candy at 6:40 and Trick or Treating is from 6 till 8pm!! I guess we were too trusting! I mean, I WAS a teenager before, and I DO remember piling in the candy of those "idiots" who left a candy bowl out in the open on Halloween Night! DUH!?

TRICK OR TREAT!! We have such a fun neighborhood with so many kids. People sitting out with their heat lamps and fires going, houses all decorated. Very cute.

Checking out the candy stash!! Funny comment from Brendan when we got back: "Uh, dis is weird, mom. Somehow pretzels got in my bag? Did you put dose in dare?" -- Heaven forbid someone pass out a healthy treat!! That really messes with a 4 year old's mind :-)

NEXT BLOG: Brooke's Pink and Green Polka Dot Party!!! I am so excited for this party, as I have been working on it for the last 6 weeks!! I will take lots of pics and post a blog by her actual birthday on November 9th hopefully!!! I still can't believe it's been a YEAR. CRAZY!!

First of all, can't believe Brooke is going to be ONE! wow. Second, don't feel bad about the bandaid....this summer when we were in FL, Rylee picked one up off the street and tried to eat it. i thought she was chewing on her hair bow, which she sometimes does, but no, it was a stranger's USED bandaid. i almost vomited.

Looks like you had a fun halloween...loved the pictures! the kids look adorable!!
