I don't really have many hobbies... unless you call parenting and cleaning hobbies! I was never really a hobby kind of girl, though. I did cheerleading in grade school and high school and did love it, but once I was too old for that, I just made having a social life my hobby!! And searching for a husband was a hobby too. HAHA! I'm kidding. I'm not someone who really throws themself into something I am "into" so to speak. So, I don't think I will become obsessed with my new hobby, although, I think it is a good one to get obsessed with... Taking pictures.
I finally convinced Jeff that we need THEE camera -- the Nikon SLR D5000. OH YA! For at least a year I have been envying pictures I've seen online taken by this camera. "Why do their pictures look so much better than the ones my camera takes??" I would think to myself. And then I found out. It's the camera. And then once I looked into possibly purchasing "THEE CAMERA" I realized I had some HEAVY convincing to do on my part, because it's not exactly something we would just go out and buy on a random day. It would need to be a gift! So my new camera was my Mother's Day and Birthday gifts together, and Jeff is also now saying it might be counted as my Christmas gift, too!! I don't care, I love it, and I look like an asian tourist with this humungo camera, but you should SEE the pictures it takes. OH. MY. GOD. The color and detail is amazing!! There are a million settings and it's quite overwhelming, but I have looked at some online tips, and read some of the manual. The manual is a text book, and I'm not kidding!
So, I thought I would post some of the pics I've taken since I got this camera exactly a week ago today!! I know I will get better, and hopefully I'll be taking a class soon and will learn how to best capture the moments in my life that are going by WAY TOO FAST!!

Don't let him fool any of you. He is NOT that innocent!!
Using the "Sports" setting so I could get them while they were swinging! I have a feeling the "Sports" setting will be used quite frequently with these kids!!
Loving this camera!!

great shots heather!! If you want to give you some helpful hints and tutorials, let me know. I can show you some of the settings on the camera and how to use them. The nice camera helps, but the more you learn how to use the camera, the better the pictures come out over time!! Yeah for the new hobby!!! It's a great hobby!!!! I love it so much I made a living out of it!!
You got it!!!
Hi Heather, I am so glad you got your camera! And the pictures do look amazing! I am still trying to get used to my new "toy" too! Did you end up taking the class at Dodd? I also love all of the settings too. Amazing. Talk to you soon.
