Snow Day!

It's been a crazy winter here in Cleveland, like most of them usually are! LOTS of snow already, and frigid, frigid temperatures! I haven't been able to take Brendan out to play because it's either too cold for the little guy, or it goes from 20 degrees with tons of snow to 45 the following day, and all the snow melts!

So, finally, this weekend, the warnings were issued... you know, the "Don't leave your house, treacherous driving conditions, white outs, never-ending snow fall for 2 days, 12-16 inches in 36 hours, etc." -- if you live where there are snow forecasts you know the warnings I'm talking about! Well, this weekend, the meteorologists knew WAY ahead of the time the entire state of Ohio was going to get socked with snow. And the temps would be around 30, so I was really excited to hopefully go out and play in the snow with Brendan. Also, Santa brought him a sled and we have a little bit of an incline in the back yard. The snow pile from the driveway being snowplowed made it the perfect little hill for a 2 year old.

WHAT A BLAST! Jeff and I haven't played out in the snow since we were kids, and well, isn't that one of the reasons you have kids?? To be a kid again?! We got at least a foot of snow, which made it difficult for Brendan to walk through, but made for some good laughs. I got some great pictures and videos of his first play in the snow day -- yes, this was actually his first time EVER playing in the snow. I thought he was too little last year, and I didn't want to waste the money on snowpants and boots!

All ready and bundled up to play in the snow!

Oh, and by the way, I sound like I'm screaming into the camera in these next videos, so turn down your volume... sorry. And I'm currently working on a new laugh that doesn't sound as dumb :-) I'll let you know when I come up with it...

What fun is playing in the snow, when you can't bring out your lawnmower and bicycle? It was a major arguement about WHY we couldn't bring out the sand and water table, and other various "summer" toys from the garage...

And, like most of our fun adventures, this one ended in tears and tantrums :-)
